Heavy Table Story
It has been a while since you have heard from Cooking on the Car. We just wanted to let you know that we are doing good and we hope to have some fun stuff available as soon as we can. In the mean time check out the Heavy Table Story by Eric Faust

HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS (AND VIDEO)

Lots of folks have been asking, "Where's the video?"
Like Clara Peller and her "Where's the beef?" commercial, we're holding back on posting video from the West Coast Turnaround Tour.
Why? Because wise people in the TV industry have advised us to hold off on posting content to the web and to focus on creating a kick-ass "sizzle reel" to show to producers.
Well, we've got an awesome sizzle real done and ready to show to four different legit producers/production companies from L.A. to New York and points between who have asked to see our content/material. On March 23rd we're meeting with a well-respected, well-connected producer/entertainment lawyer and we have 20 minutes of his time to pitch COTC.
So, we're asking, "Please be patient with us." We're not sharing video at this time for what we believe are excellent reasons. The most excellent of which is that we think there is a COTC TV series of some kind in our future.
Are we having fun yet?
Absolutely.

DAN WANTS HIM MOMMY!
If you think for one moment that this Cooking on the Car gig is easy, think again. Go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4koQnRPQt1E to check out just how stressful life on the road can be.

Dan's Family Gets Car-Cooked Tacos

Jason and Dan made it to the Dresser Dad's fish house but alas, no fish! So the boys made tacos with lime cilantro beans for Gerry and Jerry (Dan's parents), brother Tom and sister-in-law Heidi, and their son Caleb. The warming oven worked GREAT! Oh, BTW, Dan's dad caught a fish (hope it was walleye) earlier for the boys to take along for manifold cooking later. On to Fargo!

WHERE TO?
Well, it has been an interesting few days for COTC. There's good news and bad news. First the bad. Our partnership with 4 track fell through. The good news? We're still leaving on a COTC adventure on January 19th.
Here are the details of our new adventure: 1.) We don't know where we're going. 2.) We aren't exactly sure how we're going to pay for the trip. 3.) Ellen isn't exactly ready for the road, but she's in good enough shape (Big THANKS to Kari Toyota here) to get us rolling on down the highway. 4.) We don't have all the audio and video gear we'd like. 5.) BUT! We are GOING and we're going to make our OUR OWN pilot to pitch.
If you have any audio/video gear you'd like to lend us for the trip, we'd be needing some help. If you have any inclination to donate some gas money, we'd be liking that. If you have any suggested destination and or recipes or adventures that would lend us direction, feel free to give us a shout-out.
"When one door closes, a window opens" the saying goes, so too with COTC.
Wish us luck!

KSTP FEATURE
A big thanks to Jason Davis for airing a fun segment featuring Dan, Jason, and Ellen yesterday (Sun. Jan. 4th) to the Twin Cities market. Now everywhere Dan and Jason go in the Sin Twitties people will be saying, "HEY! Aren't you those Cooking on the Car guys? Check it out at: http://kstp.com/articles/stories/s1342538.shtml?cat=26. And, just a little photo reminder above right...NEVER Forget Your Car Cooked Meal on the roof.

I'D WATCH THAT
Jimmy Cooper of the Fractals said, "I'd actually watch this once a week."
Steve's gf said after seeing a clip of COTC, "This is hilarious. I'd actually watch it!" Sweet.
We're seeing a 20 episode season with a seven to eight year run on CBS, NBC, ABC, The Food Network, or, you know, wouldn't it be great if HBO picked COTC? Acronym heaven, man, acronym heaven.

KARI TOYOTA ADVENTURE
Well, Ellen has been getting a lot of attention this week. Master Mechanic, Diligent Dan Dresser, did double duty defraying disabilities on the road by rebuilding the entire front end with the able help of Jody Miller. Then Kari Toyota volunteered four new tires and a whole bunch of parts that are needed to get Ellen into shape for the vaunted trip to New Orleans scheduled to launch on Jan. 19th. See a folio of fun fotos at the Cooking on the Car FACEBOOK GROUP page. Jason, Dan, and Ellen made Manifold Banana Bread for the crew at Kari. 'Twas fun indeed.
PS: Note Ellen's nastily bent antenna.

4 TRACK = FIVE STAR
Carl Sauer, cameraman for 4 Track Films gets the COTC Purple Heart for surviving motion sickness last Sunday as he shot scenes for the upcoming pilot. Meanwhile Jason Page of 4 Track made a Five Star effort getting the "crane shot" and Erin McConnell brought it all together beautifully by providing utinsils so the crew didn't have to eat "finger food." Most Excellent Work Everyone!
